WordCamp Europe 2016 recap
A really fragnant blend of networking, enjoyment and lectures in a three-day biggest-ever WordCamp Europe event.
We just got back last week from the WordCamp Europe event held in Vienna, Austria. It was the largest WordPress conference in Europe with over 2000 attendees from all over the world arriving to learn something new, have fun and network with other WordPress users, developers and designers. Conference venue was located at brilliant, both urban and historic MusemsQuartier. The MuseumsQuartier is a 60,000 m² large area; it is the eighth largest cultural area in the world with exhibition halls, cafés, shops, recreation and relaxation areas. Conference attendes had a chance to taste this place of diversity as they were given a free entrance to several museums. This presented a really lovely and unique touch to the conference.
Two of our team members volunteered to make the WordCamp conference possible. Alen was part of the communication team and Zrinka helped with registration, child-care and door-guarding. Both of them had a great opportunity to network with other volunteers while observing and learning what it was like to organize such a grand event.
The conference organization was flawless, kudos to all organizers. Talks were interesting and some even entertaining, especially those chosen for the “Unconference” part of the conference. Each of the conference attendees was able to submit a talk for the Unconference and later on community voted for the handful of talks chosen. You can watch the talks on WordPress.tv website.
We had a chance to meet a lot of other agency owners and it was wonderful and stimullating to exchange experiences.
Next WordCamp Europe will be held in Paris, France next year. We are looking forward to attending the conference once again and experience the charm of Paris.
