Karta, free responsive WordPress travel theme

We are glad to present you with a new and free WordPress theme. Karta is a beautifully designed WordPress theme for those who want to share their travel experiences in modern and creative way.  Share lessons travelling taught you and inspire others showcasing your favourite journeys, photos, tips and tricks. Design

Design provides elegant presentation of photos and stories you want to share. Even though Karta is designed with travel in mind, you can use it for any kind of blog type and it will fit your needs very well. You can check design and .psd file at Agilo.

Site Identity

In the Site Identity section you can set the site title and tagline and choose what to display in header (logo or site title/tagline). There is also an option to set copyright text which will be displayed in the footer of the theme.

Masonry grid & Infinite Scroll

List of the latest posts or posts in archive is displayed in a modern and sleek way using Masonry grid. Karta uses Masonry in combination with Jetpack Infinite Scroll feature. Custom made Load more button triggers loading of the posts and they get perfectly placed in the grid.

Modals

In case you want to add some content but you don’t want to create a new page for it we made custom modals. Define menu item that will trigger modal and you are all set to add form, text, image or whatever you want in the modal body. Modal style is also used for displaying submenus.

Add menu item (Appearance -> Menus) which will open your modal

Add widget (Appearance -> Widgets) in Modals section and set its title the same as you named your modal in menu item (without #modal- part).

Share

We embedded sharing option so your posts can be easily shared on Facebook, Twitter or Google Plus.

Subscribe

If you want to add newsletter form, Karta officially supports Easy Forms for MailChimp by YIKES plugin. Any other plugin should work, but be aware that you will have to turn off its default style.

Contact

Karta supports Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms, but as well as for Subscribe form, any other plugin should work.

Footer

It’s up to you which kind of content will be displayed in the footer. Footer is a widget area so you can add whatever you like. In case you want to display recent post with its featured image, Karta supports Recent Posts Widget Extended plugin.
